So what is grammar exactly?

Grammar is broadly defined as all the rules and structures that outline the proper use of language. This website does a good job of breaking down the definition of grammar, however, Khan Academy provides a more thorough introduction to grammar below.

Grammar can be quite complicated in the English language and it is easy to make mistakes!   Here’s a silly video about “Grammar Crimes” from Weird Al.

The improper use of grammar can also cause you to make some really embarrassing statements that you don’t really mean.
