Being creative is work that is full of meaning, joy, personal learning, and frustration. It's also a journey. This path was inspired by my journey as a creativity coach, teacher, blogger, and writer; I hope it inspires you and piques your interest in a creative life.
Doing Creative Work, Creatively
Creativity seems to be on everybody’s lips these days but why is creativity important? And what is it? And do we all have to be artists now? (The answer to that is no!)
Creativity is an act. It is an act of creating, of engaging in a process. And this process can be of various lengths but the similarity to every creative process is that it is a meeting with yourself. Engaging in a creating process is the best personal development, and personal growth you’ll meet.
When people say they are not creative, they usually mean they don’t create art. But we are all creative. Where there is human intelligence, there is imagination. And our imagination is the spark of creativity. Are some people more creatively thinking than others? Yes, and here you can learn more about highly creative people.
Having multiple and portfolio careers and being boundary crossers (as Dan Pink calls it) is very much how we work today and will be how we work in the future.
